Overview

Survive a Zombie apocalypse in a city.

Status

Despite being still an Alpha the game is playable with most of the features there and mostly stable.

Gameplay

The gameplay focus on surviving. The game is currently open-ended with a minimal plot.

The City

The City is divided into Districts of various types and specializations.
You can also visit the sewers, the subway and shops or houses basements.

Surviving

You need to take care of your basic needs : hunger and sleep. Find food to eat and safe places to sleep.
You also have to keep on eye on your stamina, as you can't do much if you are too tired.
You can build safe shelters by building barricades, fortifications or pushing furniture around.

Leveling up

You level up by surviving another day. You then get to choose a new skill.

Day/Night cycle and Weather

Night and bad weather have various effects, especially on the livings.
Most undeads tracking abilities are affected by rain.

Enemies and Friends

The undeads are your principal enemies. Most undeads can evolve into more powerful beings by killing people.
You can interact with other survivors by trading and recruiting them in your squad.
The military and gangs will also join the party.

Achievements

Achievements increase your score. Some achievements can advance the game plot.

Notable differences from most Roguelikes

  • Survivors are fragile and die easily, including the player, even at high level.
  • As the gameplay focus on staying alive and attending to your basic needs, killing enemies is secondary rather than the priority.
  • You can recruit a party of fellow survivors to help you and you can order them around, but will have to take care of them.
  • The game world is dynamic and always evolving. The game can simulate what happened in places your character was not present.
