Revision as of 17:23, 21 May 2009

I'm currently working on XAngband, TinyAngband and now Angband/65. I also understand Japanese, so if you need anything translated let me know.

Angband/65 progress track:

  • Apr 25, 2009 : 71 open tickets, 55 closed. I suppose this counts as progress. I am hopeful that I will be on schedule for the alpha1 release - but there isn't going to be much time to spare.
  • Apr 26, 2009 : 77 open tickets, 58 closed. Ever felt you're going backwards? ;-) Did some fairly drastic hacking out of obsolete (from my perspective) code and have just started putting back the replacements. It's going to be a long job.
  • Apr 27, 2009 : 84 open tickets, 58 closed. OK, that doesn't look like much progress from yesterday but I'm half way through a major update. I might finally have the spell system working tomorrow! (Maybe).
  • Apr 28, 2009 : That was overly optimistic. Maybe tomorrow, this time?
  • Apr 29, 2009 : 82 open tickets, 64 closed. Beginning to doubt that I'll ever get the /64 spell system implemented. :-/
  • May 2, 2009 : Lost a couple of days downloading, installing, and getting (slightly) used to Linux. At least I'll be able to check that Angband/65 can be compiled and run in Linux now.
  • May 4, 2009 : Made a bit of progress. However I suspect that I will not make the alpha 1 release date. :-/
  • May 5, 2009 : Slowly getting the spell system sorted out. (Slowed down a bit by a cold at the moment). Should be able to cross a few tickets off the list tomorrow.
  • May 6, 2009 : 81 open tickets, 70 closed. At this rate I may just make the deadline, but there aren't any easy tickets left.
  • May 8, 2009 : 86 open tickets, 75 closed. Found some nasty bugs. :-( Fixed one not-so-nasty bug.
  • May 10, 2009 : 78 open tickets, 82 closed. Who-hoo! Now more closed tickets than open. ;-) As you can see I've done a bit of tidying up of old tickets that could just be closed off as well as implemented some genuine features (such as support for tactic and movement types).
  • May 11, 2009 : Vanilla Angband 1379 brought with it a nasty bug to Angband/65 that (apparently) only shows up in certain circumstances (but I'm not sure which). In the end I decided to reverse the 'bugfix' 1379. Also I took a break from Angband/65 and submitted an artifact suggestion to Vanilla Angband. See The Large Metal Shield of the Sun. Hope it gets in.
  • May 12, 2009 : Made some real progress today - you can now cast spells! Unfortunately I also found some more bugs to fix.
  • May 16, 2009 : Been a while since my last update here. Only 10 more open tickets left in the "Alpha 1" milestone. Unfortunately there are a heck of a lot of tickets waiting for me for the Alpha 2 milestone now. ^ ^)v
  • May 21, 2009 : In a shock move I'm considering suspending work on Angband/65 and starting a new project to make a Japanese version of Angband 3.1.1 - JBand.
