Overview
WazHack is a retelling of NetHack in the form of a 3D realistic side-view "platformer". The developer, Waz, appeared on Episode 46 of Roguelike Radio as part of a discussion of Steam Greenlight (where the community successfully [voted it onto http://store.steampowered.com/app/264160 Steam]).
It keeps to the Berlin Interpretation except it is:
- not grid based;
- not ASCII, but 3D realistic.
- supports multiplayer (not by resorting to realtime)
It is turn-based, but the turns are in fractions of a second. When the player moves or acts, the world moves forward; when the player stops to contemplate his inventory, time stands still.
Getting the Game
The game can be played live on WazHack.com, the Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux versions are available from Steam, the iPhone/iPad app is available from the Apple App Store. and the Android app is available from the Google Play Store (Android Market).

Multiplayer
Multiplayer is achieved by players playing in their own instance of the dungeon, but being aware of the other's locations and able to trade items when near each other. Dungeon layout and base creature encounters are the same for all players (and items too, in competition mode).
History
The game was first released for PC in 2012 and was also ported to Android, iOS, and Mac OSX the following year. In 2014 it was voted onto Steam, at which time it was also ported to Linux including SteamOS. The game continues to be developed.
