:Erm, so now we are meant to be a programming 101 howto write hellow world type site? Articles pertinent to RL dev is one thing (FOV, A* etc) but something as basic as bit manipulation? What is the lowest quotient level we are aiming for on this site? I suggest we create articles on How to install a compiler, run an executable, the difference between doing #include <> versus #include "", etc.
:I maintain this article fails to offer up anything worthwhile and dedicated newbie programming sites better cater to this kind of article and it is not really in the scope of roguebasin to teach elementary programming. The same goes for the compression article (which could be redone for something like arithmatic huffman/lz splay trees or something, but rle? geeze).

Nice. I like the precise and condensed C version myself. The VB implementation is kinda overkill.. Not sure why we even need a page on bit manipulation really.... Stu 14:44, 4 April 2008 (CEST)
Great, now that the massive VB.NET 1000 line example has been deleted.. can we just delete this article all together? Does it really serve any purpose?? Stu 17:49, 8 April 2008 (CEST)
