Dangband is short for Dan's Angband. It is a personal variant meant primarily to amuse its creator. It is nominally set in Reagan's America (specifically Modesto, California), but thanks to powerful magic, the dungeon contains remnants of the far distant past, things otherwise yet in our future, and even creatures and objects that originate in other universes.
