elig: if it has a static world, it probably isn't a roguelike, even if the graphics are ascii. Roguelikes require random generation.

JDTAY: Ah, the static Roguelike, the jumbo shrimp of the RPG world.

ProvoliK: I think random generation is not required to define a game rogue-like. I like it, but it's not a necessary feature. Rayel is a good RL :-)
