A 7DRL is a roguelike written within the limits of a week or seven days of development.
7DRLs force the roguelike developer to focus on defining goals implementable in a mid or short time, thus increasing the sucess rate of his roguelike and allowing him to produce fun and relatively simple games and start acquiring feedback from testers and players.
Some developers consider a 7DRL as a finished product that must not be worked on further; some others take it as starting points for more ambitious projects.
