Note that GW-Angband 2.8.3v3 is an alpha release which has not been updated.
GW-Angband 2.8.3v1 was the last stable release.
The first release was based on Angband 2.7.9v6 code.
The intent of this variant was to have a more realistic approach to mage combat, especially late in the game.
