Description

MineClimbeR(L) is a side-view, bottom-scrolling roguelike, where your main enemy is gravity. There are plenty of regular enemies - Bats, Spiders, Snakes, Goblins, Trolls and a Dragon - but, most often, gravity will be your demise.

You play the part of a young adventurer, setting out to discover the truth about a mining accident that happened in your town. Rumours suggest that the explosion was set deliberately, to seal away a great evil that was awoken in the depths of the mine.

An old collapsed mine is a dangerous place, but, luckily you've brought along some rock climbing supplies. You can anchor yourself in to the cave walls, and climb around safely. However, you've only got so much rope. You also should have brought more climbing anchors - a lot more. You'll go through your starting allotment pretty quickly, and will need to find metals to craft news ones.

The crafting mechanic is very simple, you simply select an item from a list of items that you currently have the requirements to craft. Crafting anchors, from a single metal will yield you 50 anchors, and should keep you going until you uncover more metal. You'll also periodically need to replace your pick, and replenish your torch from time to time. While you're at it, a bow would help to keep your distance from some of the tougher enemies, and will be essential in defeating the Dragon at the bottom of the cave.

Defeat the dragon, and return to the surface to complete the game.
