These are Unix tape archives, probably not the original archive format for VMS Moria. When I downloaded them, the timestamps were in 1989, and the timestamps on 4.8 were actually ''newer'' than the timestamps on 5.0. --[[User:Kernigh|Kernigh]] 05:48, 7 Aug 2006 (CEST)

== Latest 'official' Moria 1987? ==
The page had said the latest official version was 1987. I am wondering why. Sometime since then, the maintainer has been David Grabiner, and he last updated it in 2008 so I changed that date... or would it be best to put 2008 on the Umoria page?--[[User:Darwin|Darwin]] 06:25, 29 June 2012 (CEST)

The README in ftp://ftp.funet.fi/pub/unix/games/moria/vms/ reads:

vms48.tar.Z is a compressed tar file containing the original VMS/Pascal Moria sources. These sources are the basis for all of the other moria versions in this archive.
vms50.tar.Z is a compressed tar file containing the VMS/Pascal Moria UB 5.0 sources developed at the University Buffalo. This is generally considered the latest VMS Moria version.

These are Unix tape archives, probably not the original archive format for VMS Moria. When I downloaded them, the timestamps were in 1989, and the timestamps on 4.8 were actually newer than the timestamps on 5.0. --Kernigh 05:48, 7 Aug 2006 (CEST)
