Infection is a coffeebreak roguelike

About

Infection is a Seven Day Roguelike written for the 7DRL Challange 2013. The game is about a pathogen trying to infect a living organism and fighting its immune system, antibiotic shots and... experimental medical nanomachines.

Game features

  • Tile-??based dungeon generation: every level has a different look-??and-??feel and the structure is different
  • Trait based advancements based on phagocyting enemies and using their parts to buy skills
  • Different gameplay elements, albeit very simple in their execution: auras, ranged attacks, summoning, different moving patterns for enemies
  • Data-driven design allows to:
    • Customize levels, adding removing or changing their generation pattern and monster population
    • Edit the monsters' stats and traits
    • Edit the starting stats and traits of the player

Versions and platforms

Infection is written in D and utilizes the Derelict 3 libtcod bindings. The source code and libraries are cross-platform but the only official build is for Windows.
